Small Victories Tour

Seeing the progress we're making keeps us motivated, because in the middle of a project, it can seem like things are taking so long. Here's to staying encouraged!

The kitchen, before and progress... We consider this our second life-upending project (the first being the bathroom), and I think we have learned enough in the process that this time around it went smoother and closer to our timeline. :)

And a little AT pick-me-up

The living room, before and progress. We refinished floors, repaired and repainted walls, baseboarded, revived the fireplace, opened up a hole in the wall, curtained, decorated, and enjoyed! here and here and here and here and here

Some welcome progress on the little connecting hallway between the kitchen and garage and basement...here

The guest room got refinished floors, new paint, and much improved baseboards, like most of the other rooms. Before and progress, not too shabby. here and here

Up to the attic, where we sleep now. It started out pretty scary, and slowly we're helping it be less and less so. Refinishing floors and covering up that periwinkle blue made quite a difference! here here here
We repaired a lot so that we would be able to paint, and are now in the process of finishing up planking the ceiling. We were intimidated to start that project for a long time, but it has been surprisingly easy so far! (knock on wood)

The bathroom, oh the bathroom. The project that almost killed us. We tore the thing apart before we moved in and it sat as an empty box with just a toilet forEVER. It was such a long process to get everything put back together!
The tub was our first step in the transformation: here here and here
Then after re-drywalling and painting, there was a sweet little shelfity-shelf nook. here here here and here

Finally, the vanity in all its glory! Bathroom complete! here and here and here
Also, we were in Apartment Therapy, and that was pretty neat! Whenever I get DIY depressed I go back and read the comments :) here
Compared to the before:
May we never forget the hours spent restoring our floors to their original beauty. here is the before and after evidence.
